System integration and process automation

Your systems do not talk to each other. I connect them and automate the manual work in between.

For mid-sized companies where data travels between ERP, CRM, line-of-business applications and Excel by hand. I build the missing connection, let the steps in between run on their own and hand over the result documented to your team. At a fixed price that is agreed before the first line of code.

Does this sound familiar?

  • The same data, maintained three times

Customers and articles live in several systems. A change is made in one place and noticed in the other only when something goes wrong.

  • Reporting is assembled in Excel

The same exports every month, the same formulas, the same copying. Two days of work before anyone even talks about the numbers.

  • The process depends on one person

One person knows the order in which things have to happen. When they are away, the process stalls or runs differently.

  • There is no interface, so it gets retyped

Two applications do not know each other. Someone reads values in one and types them into the other – every day, with the errors that come with it.

Services

Three formats. Each with a defined scope, a fixed price and a fixed end date.

Data landscape review

What
An inventory of your systems and the paths between them: what is stored where, what is transferred manually, where duplicate maintenance and breaks occur. From that, a target picture and a prioritised roadmap.
For whom
Managing directors and commercial leads who want a clear picture before larger decisions.
Result
A document you can decide on: what comes first, what later, what not at all – each with effort and benefit.
Duration
2 to 3 weeks.

Process automation

What
One clearly defined process, automated end to end: from the data source to the result, including logging, error handling and notification.
For whom
Departments where recurring manual work costs the same hours every month.
Result
The process runs without intervention, is documented and handed over to your team.
Duration
4 to 6 weeks.

System integration

What
Connecting your source systems to a central data hub: interfaces, matching logic, history, monitoring.
For whom
Companies whose reporting fails because the data from several systems does not line up.
Result
A reliable data basis that analyses and reports can build on, instead of being collected again every time.
Duration
In milestones of four weeks each.

How I work

The difference is rarely in the technology. It is in how a project is priced, cut and finished.

  1. Fixed price instead of day rates

Price and date are set before the project starts. If it takes longer than expected, that is my risk, not your invoice.

  2. Delivered in milestones

Every project is split into completed sections. After each one you decide again whether and how to continue.

  3. Remote and asynchronous

One fixed weekly call, everything else in writing. That keeps your effort small and progress easy to follow.

  4. Handover instead of dependency

Source code, access and documentation are yours. Your team can take over operations without needing me.

Projects

Anonymised, because clients do not belong in a shop window.

Receivables management automated

Trading company, around 200 employees

Starting point
Credit rating data was downloaded manually every month, prepared in spreadsheets and matched against open items. Insolvent debtors were looked up and written off one by one.
Intervention
Connected the credit rating data through the provider's REST interface, automated the match against the debtors in the ERP, rule-based write-off proposals with logging and an approval step.
Result
[X] hours of manual work saved per month, write-offs now run rule-based and traceable.

Controlling reporting put on its own feet

Group of companies, several entities

Starting point
Key figures were prepared separately per entity. The consolidated view came out of a grown Excel chain that only one person fully understood.
Intervention
Data pipelines from source system extraction through a common data layer to the Power BI report, with consistent key figure definitions across all entities.
Result
[X]

Undocumented web API connected

Service provider, around 120 employees

Starting point
An important partner portal offered no documented interface. Data was read in the browser and retyped into the company's own system.
Intervention
Analysis of the portal traffic, rebuilt authentication, mapping of the fields onto the internal data model, scheduled synchronisation with monitoring and alerts on deviations.
Result
[X]

About me

My background is quantitative: statistics and data science, before that economics. What interests me is less the model than the path the data takes before it – that is where the errors are made that show up in the report later.

Today I lead data, automation and AI at a company. Consulting happens alongside that, deliberately on a small scale: a few projects per year, with a firm commitment on price and date.

I do the technical work myself. You do not get a presentation, you get a running system that is documented and that your team can operate without me.
